Crack the Skye 2

Ok so i felt a little guilty fro downloading crack the skye before it's release so on Monday 23 march I bought the Deluxe version that was finally available in Dutch iTunes store. With this version there was a complete instrumental album which sounds fucking great. And the art that comes with it also really cool. Check it!!!! I also got my Tunnel CD/DVD pack with a Autographed LITHO :) sweet!!!

I couldn't help myself... the promoting, the making curious, all off the stunts they pulled to make sure everybody knew it was coming on march 24... they made sure everybody knew. I pre ordered the LIMITED EDITION CRACK THE SKYE CD/DVD TUNNEL BOOK in the middle of the fucking night just to be fucking sure I would get it. I even tried to get an address in the states because the pre ordering full album and instrumental itunes version was only in the US itunes store. All of the posts, the articles, the reviews all of the almost death magnetic like tricks and then.... then it leaked, it fucking leaked. I manged not to download the 128 kbs leaked version, I also manged to not listen to the stream on the website, but come on, a VBR with a minimum of 224 kbs.... I couldn't resist, home alone and hoping the are going to release to soon, just checking the piratebay (I also resisted checking that before) and there it was.... the leaked good fucking quality version of "Crack The Skye", it was like automatic pilot, I just clicked and started downloading, less then 15 minutes later it was on my computer. I almost couldn't wait but I manged to do the necessary tagging and then.........

Fucking oblivion.... if there is going to be a band to top this album in 2009 please step up now or rest in peace the rest of the fucking year, this is the shit, this is top of everything. I fucking love this album. This is Mastodons best work until now! I don't care if it's a concept album, I don't give a fucking shit if this it's not their style, for all I care they did it running around naked while shitting in police hats and fucking some clown-dwarfs, this is maybe the best album I ever heard.. at the moment I can't think of an album that is better.

If you want to find out why they named it crack the Skye, I'm sure you got google on on your Internet so use that. 

So let's get to the album, usually I don't use a lot of words in my posts and I don't talk about music but what the hell, this is something I want to share and everyone should listen to.

The album is really dark and intense with tempo switching and great guitar solo's, but I have to say the rhythm section is out of this world, the drumming is like never heard before, you just got to love it :). I could go on and on about how great this band is and how freaking great this album is but you should just go and pay some money for it like I did 40 bucks for the tunnel stuff :).
